Morrison, a practicing OB-GYN, has led the fight to improve maternal health care in Minnesota

Morrison passed legislation to extend health insurance for new moms on Medicaid from just 60 days to 12 months

THIRD DISTRICT – State Senator Kelly Morrison (DFL-SD45) today announced key endorsements from more than 25 OB-GYNs in MN-03 and across the state.

Morrison, a practicing OB-GYN, has led the fight to improve maternal health care in Minnesota. She passed legislation to extend health insurance for new moms on Medicaid from just 60 days to 12 months, and also passed legislation to protect reproductive rights in the state.

If elected, Morrison will be the only pro-choice OB-GYN in Congress.

“I’m honored to have the support of so many fellow doctors in MN-03 and across the state,” Morrison said. “From fighting to make sure that new moms don’t lose their health insurance to protecting a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, my experience as an OB-GYN has informed my work at the Capitol and driven me to champion and pass legislation that can make a real difference for Minnesota families.”
